Twitter Theme Week # 1 – Insights from World Wide Rave

World_wide_rave

Last week we initiated our Twitter Theme Weeks – which provide thoughts and insights around a marketing theme.

The first of these focused on  David Meerman Scott’s new book World Wide Rave – which I  highly recommend.

In case you missed any of our tweets – follows is a summary:

1. ‘Nobody cares about your products (except you)’. People care about ways to solve their problems.

2. No Coercion Required. When you have something worth sharing, people will share it – no coercion required.

3. Lose Control. Make your content free & freely sharable; easy to find & consume.

4 Put Down Roots. Be involved in the online communities of people who actively share.

5 ‘Create triggers that encourage people to share’. Creativity and imagination required.

6. ‘Point the world to your (virtual) doorstep’ Create a World Wide Rave. Offer excellent content.

We concluded the week of tweetful insights with my personal favourite:

‘Focus on your buyer personas and how you can solve problems for them.’

Stand by for our next Theme Week!
